BTS Unites for “Bastions” Animated Film Soundtrack

BTS, the popular Korean pop icons, have been focusing more on their individual pursuits lately, but they have not forgotten their commitment to delivering exceptional group projects. The latest project to feature the entire BTS group is the upcoming 3D superhero movie, “Bastions,” whose producers announced on April 14 that the group has contributed the theme song.

According to a report by BIGHIT MUSIC, the single was recorded before Jin, one of the BTS members, started his mandatory military service in South Korea last December. The announcement by “Bastions” also revealed that the soundtrack would feature a star-studded K-pop lineup, with songs from other talented artists such as Brave Girls, AleXa, Heize, and P.Cassady.

“Bastions” is an animated film that tells the story of K-pop action heroes fighting against villains responsible for environmental pollution. A 30-second preview of the track shared by the “Bastions” team prominently features the unmistakable vocals of Jung Kook and Jimin, and the bouncy K-pop song sounds like it could easily fit alongside other bright BTS hits such as “Boys With Luv” or “Butter.”

The official “Bastions” website has indicated that the release of the track is “coming soon,” with the official release date set for May 12. The movie will premiere on May 14 on the public Korean TV channel SBS at 7:30 a.m. local time, with plans to broadcast the film worldwide.

This new song marks the first BTS single featuring the entire group since last year’s “Bad Decisions,” which BTS recorded with Benny Blanco and Snoop Dogg. The track achieved remarkable commercial success, peaking at No. 10 on the Hot 100 and No. 26 on Pop Radio, while also reaching No. 6 on the Billboard Global 200 and No. 7 on the Billboard Global Excl. US chart worldwide.
